Bitbus - The International Fieldbus
SFT-BITNT
- Kernel mode native device driver to use IPC-BIT900A, IPC-BIT900<104 or IPC-BIT900<PCI with the Windows®NT4.0 operating system (Service pack 3+).
- Supports up to six boards simultanously and up to 16 concurrent applications for each board.
- BAPI, the new BEUG standard Bitbus Application Interface DLL.
- Alternatively BITDLL for backward compatibility with existing ELZET80/mocom Windows9x DLL (BITDLL not recommended for new applications)
ELZET 80 supports its BITBUS master board series IPC-BIT900xx with software drivers for DOS and Windows 95/98. Due to the growing use of Windows NT it seemed appropriate to support this relatively reliable operating system, too - despite the high investment in necessary native drivers.
Access to the boards is through a layered set of programs starting with the kernel mode native driver, followed by a low level DLL for internal use only and topped by either the BAPI DLL or the BITDLL. The kernel driver works with interrupt to guarantee minimal overhead and fast response.
The BEUG has recently adopted the BAPI as a standard for software access to BITBUS master boards and this is the first ELZET80 software to comply with the BAPI standard (BITDLL is not recommended for new projects).
The Windows NT driver is supplied as a general license for use in all products of the customer. It comes with a half year of free e-mail or fax support of one contact person at the customers site. Additional contacts or renewals of the 1/2 year support period are available.
